In 1996 Frank Cocuzolli understood that the automatic door industry was in need of a dynamic new manufacturer. Frank's 35 years of industry experience equipped him with the knowledge to design and build innovative and superior products for today's market.
Hunter Automatics began manufacturing in 1998, primarily to service Toronto and the surrounding region.
The HA8 AutoSwing® automatic door operator was our initial product which facilitated us competing in the highly competitive automatic door industry. After several years of successfully providing an apparatus for automating swinging doors, a more ambitious objective was outlined - designing a complete automatic sliding door system - which was an important step in maintaining and expanding the profile of Hunter Automatics.
By 2000 our automatic sliding door system - DS18 - was in production. Following the introduction of the DS18, other products were introduced - ranging from a telescopic slider to a smaller version of the DS18.
Having a complete catalogue of automatic door products enabled us at Hunter Automatics to increase the geographic reach of our operations. We partnered with quality distributors from coast to coast - resulting in Hunter Automatics being represented throughout Canada. In 2004 we opened a dedicated US operation - now based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
